Couture Fashion Week: Autumn/Winter 15/16
July 15, 2015
Paris, home of haute couture, hosted Couture Fashion Week from the 5th-11th July. The worlds most famous couturiers once again created beautiful collections that are just to die for. Turtle necks and velvet made their way onto the runways this season, while fur and lace appeared once again.
Keep reading to see five of my favourite trends, which I'm sure we will be seeing a lot more of come autumn.
Turtle necks were seen all over the runways in Paris. Whether it's an oversized sweater, a dress or a turtle neck and skirt, be sure to add this staple into your wardrobe this winter.
1. Valentino
2. Jean Paul Gaultier
3. Alexandre Vauthier
Fur coats once again made an appearance in designers' F/W couture collections. Add a subtle touch to sleeves, or channel your inner Cruella de Vil à la Fendi.
1.Ulyana Sergeenko
3. Fendi
Capes have been around for a long time, and it looks like they aren't going anywhere. An elegant and practical way to keep warm, capes were seen both embellished and all black.
1.Ralph & Russo
Velvet made a striking return to the runways, seen on everything from suits to dresses and coats. The bold material is back and, as far as I'm concerned, it's here to stay.
1. Alexandre Vauthier
2. Armani Privé
3. Christian Dior
Veils have always been an accessory associated with weddings. Many designers closed their couture shows with incredible bridal numbers, but the role of the veil took a new turn at Chanel, draping from Kendall Jenner's shoulders, rather than her head.
1. Ralph & Russo
2. Zuhair Murad
3. Chanel
Let me know which trend was your favourite at Couture Fashion Week.
